Day 6

Good Morning All! I would like to welcome anyone who has joined us recently, we are sure glad you are here and we are excited you are reading the Word with us.

Today's Readings are Genesis 14-16, Galatians 1 and Psalm 3

Today the reading in Genesis started out with this king and that king and this one again..... Sometimes reading those names, my brain start wondering. But God is good and kept my attention this morning and it is interesting to me to learn that after all this info about these kings it came down to Lot being kidnapped and then Abram getting all his servants together to go save him. I love that even though, you know he had to be mad, he didn't take anything that wasn't his. He could have taken the goods and the king even told him to, but instead God told him not to and he followed God.

So Abram was willing to listen to God all these times, trusting Him for safety and provision and yet, he didn't really trust Him for babies. His wife was sure that God wouldn't give her any babies so she gave her husband her maidservant. I can imagine that being used like that is why Hagar got angry and hated Sarai. It was interesting to me that the angel told Hagar to go back to Sarai and also that her son would basically be an outcast. Not something every momma desires to hear from an angel for sure.

In Galatians we saw that there are many who turn the gospel around to say what they want it to. following that can be dangerous. The gospel is simple, Jesus was born of a virgin in Bethlehem. He grew to a man and for 3 years He did many miracles. At 33 He took the sin of the world on and was beaten, spit on, tortured and hung from a cross to take our punishment on Himself, One who had done no wrong. He died and was buried and 3 days later He rose from the dead. After visiting with His disciples, proving He was alive, He ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of God. He then sent His Holy Spirit to help us along. That is it. All we have to do is accept that. Don't let anyone tell you it is more then that. God kept it simple for us and even though their are those who try to make it more complicated, God gave us His Word to show us the truth.

I want to end with Psalm 3:5-6
"But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill."

When you cry out for God, He is always there! Have a blessed day friends!
